Our Open Competitions are a great opportunity to test your game on one of the most unique layouts in Edinburgh. We welcome players to experience the challenge of our par 65 course in a competitive but friendly environment. You can expect quality prizes and a warm welcome in the clubhouse afterwards.

Beyond the competition, an Open at the Merchants is about the full experience. You can enjoy spectacular views across Edinburgh from several different vantage points on the course, making for a memorable day of competitive golf.

Once your round is finished, our recently refurbished clubhouse is the perfect place to relax with a meal or a drink. Whether you are a regular visitor or playing the course for the first time, our Opens are a fantastic way to enjoy MEGC at its best.
