Ladies and Gentlemen have equal status and playing rights at "the Merchants". There is an active Ladies Section within the club which, in addition
to organising competitions for Ladies, also arranges some functions which are solely for Lady Members.

Ideally applicants for Ordinary Membership should be sponsored by two current members of at least 2 years standing but it is recognised that
this may not always be possible. In the latter case the applicant would be interviewed by the Captain and the Club Secretary.
One of the advantages of the Course is that members do not need to book a tee time in advance, they just turn up and play. Surprisingly, even in
summer time significant waiting at the first tee seems to be fairly rare.
Another advantage is that the tenth tee is close to the clubhouse. If the first tee is busy, you can start from the tenth tee if no-one can be seen
playing the ninth hole. You can also play twelve holes by playing the fourteenth after the seventh, if there is no-one playing the thirteenth.

Young Golfers Membership(18-29) and
Junior Membership (11-17) |

YOUNG GOLFER SPECIAL JOINING OFFER FOR 2010 (18-29 Year Olds) JOIN FOR £199
A special joining offer is being made available for young golfers between the ages of 18-29. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 29 can benefit from the Young Golfer Membership and join for £199. There is no joining fee for this category. Young Golfer Membership allows full playing rights including all club competitions.

| JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP |
The age range for Juniors is 11 to 17. There is no minimum age for applicants for Junior Membership. There is no entry fee for Juniors and the annual membership fee is £135.

Note that children between the ages of 7 and 10, if accompanied by an Adult member, may play on the course at quieter times.

House Membership |
| |
House Members have full use of the Clubhouse and may attend the A.G.M. but they have no golfing or voting rights.
The annual fee for House Membership is £84.30 (including VAT).
